
“Silpanjali” came into being way back on the very auspicious occasion of ‘Akshay Tritiya’, 1st of May, 1987 (International Labours’ Day) is solemnly dedicated in creating a healthy artistic milieu by sowing the seed of culture in the mind of people worldwide. Inaugurated by the renowned artist Haasiraashi Devi, the Organization started its journey with the heartiest co-operation of some art loving personalities like Dr. Fanibhushan Bhattacharya, Prof. Ushaprasanna Mukhopadhaya, Sir Voboronjon Majumdar.
“Silpanjali” aims in reaching out to people using various genres of art and culture. This range can be classified in two segments, Academic and Production. Academic Genre includes Vocal Training, Dance Training which involves Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Rabindranritya, Modern Dance etc., Recitation, Drama & Puppetry. The Production range deals with Puppet Theatre, Drama and Dance Drama. This institution invites stalwarts from different fields of culture in the way of their journey and pays them tribute. These personalities share their experiences, struggles with the pupil of this organization and local people as well, to develop their skill in the respective form of art. Apart from this performing wing of “Silpanjali” also takes part in various cultural programs outside.
Some major aspects of “Silpanjali” can be categorized into four main sections, such as,
- Socio-cultural aspect: Involved in increasing in cultural literacy around its vicinity since 1987.
- Educational outlook: Providing training on dance, vocal song, painting, recitation, drama, puppet theatre and music.
- Cultural Production: Productions on puppet theatre, dance drama, children drama, children dance composition, musical painting etc. on regular basis.
- Cultural Coordination: Organizing cultural workshop regularly at rural schools. Arranging seminar in various places of the adjacent locality, is also conducted by this institution.
“Silpanjali” is also engaged in the activity of exchanging own cultural excellence with other states and abroad since long.
